Causes
of Subluxation There are many factors
that cause subluxation. Trauma from car accidents,
improper lifting, falls, jolts, or strains are
common causes. Sustained postures (sitting all
day), repeated motions common to the workplace,
inadequate sleep, improper exercise, poor diet
and emotional stress are all factors that can gradually
wear down parts of the spine and lead to subluxation.
They can occur as early as childbirth. The infant's
spine (particularly the neck) undergoes an incredible
amount of stress during the birthing process. Many
neurological and health problems have been traced
to spinal trauma at birth.

How
Chiropractic differs There is a significant difference
between the way chiropractors and medical doctors
approach ailments. When evaluating and treating patients, chiropractors
take a holistic approach which includes identifying and correcting
the cause(s) of the patient's health ailment. In contrast, the
medical approach tends to focus more on treating the symptoms of
condition rather than focusing on the actual cause(s). Chiropractors
believe that correcting the root of the problem provides significant
long-term benefits as opposed to only treating the symptoms.

Pain is
a sign that your body isn't working right. Your
brain, spinal cord and all your nerves control
how your body works and feels. Physical, chemical
or emotional stresses cause muscles to contract,
locking spinal joints that pinch or irritate nearby
nerves. Lack of integrity of the nervous system
sets the stage for disease and ill health. A thorough examination helps
chiropractors identify these subluxations. Applying a precise force
to stuck spinal joints helps the body right itself. Health usually returns
as repeated visits restore nervous system integrity. That's why chiropractic
care has helped millions get well and stay well.
